The SOF IMO Exam 2026-27 will be conducted on three separate Level 1 dates, and participating schools can choose any one of the available dates for their students. Important Points about the IMO Olympiad Syllabus

  • for the SOF IMO Level 1 exam, questions are divided between the current class syllabus and the previous class syllabus. As the syllabus details show, about 60% of questions are based on the current class and 40% on the previous class.


  • Questions in the Achievers Section are based on the current class syllabus only and focus on Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS).

SOF generally declares Olympiad results within eight weeks of the examination. Results are communicated to participating schools and are also made available through SOF's official platform. Students can check their marks, rank and qualification status once results are announced.

16. Can a student participate in IMO every year?

Yes. Eligible students can participate in the IMO Olympiad again in subsequent classes. SOF allows students who appeared in an Olympiad in a lower class to participate again, giving them another opportunity to improve their performance and ranking.

17. Can a student appear for IMO and other SOF Olympiads in the same year?

Yes. IMO and other SOF Olympiads are separate competitions. Subject to class eligibility and school registration, students can participate in IMO and other SOF Olympiad examinations in the same academic year.
