Hint: Trapezium is one type of the quadrilateral. Quadrilateral is defined as the closed figure which has the four sides and the four vertices. Quadrilateral is also identified as “quadrangle”. Basically, there are six types of quadrilaterals such as rectangle, square, kite, rhombus, trapezium and parallelogram.
Complete step by step solution:
Trapezium is also known as the trapezoid.
Properties of Trapezium are –
I.Trapezium is the quadrilateral with the pair of the parallel sides.
II.It has a pair of non – parallel lines.
III.The sum of the angles inside the trapezium is always equal to three-sixty. Hence, in the above ABCD trapezium, $ \angle A + \angle B + \angle C + \angle D = 360^\circ $
IV.Two angles on the same side of the trapezium are always supplementary and therefore the sum of the angles of the adjacent sides are always equal to $ 180^\circ $
V.The diagonals of the trapezium always bisect each other.
VI.The length of the measure of the mid-segment is always equal to half of the sum of the bases.
Note: Always remember that the Trapezium can be defined as the quadrilateral with 2- dimensional shape which has only the two parallel sides and the other two sides are non-parallel. It is made up of four vertices and four edges. Perimeter of trapezium can be given by the sum of the length of all the four sides
Additional Information: Area of trapezium can be given by \[\dfrac{1}{2} \times \left( {{\text{sum of parallel sides}}} \right) \times height\]
