Hint: We know the power factor as the ratio of the actual power consumed by the load to the apparent power . Because of energy put away in the load and got back to the source, or because of a non direct burden that mutilates the wave state of the current drawn from the source. So, the apparent power may be greater than the real power.
Complete step by step answer:
As, we know the power factor as the ratio of the actual power consumed by the load to the apparent power. In induction motors, loads with low power factor can be rectified with an unresisting network of inductors. Non direct loads like rectifiers the current down from the framework. In such cases dynamic and latent power factors rectify the power factor and may raise the power factor. We can write the power factor as- \[\cos \theta = \dfrac{P}{S}\], where P is defined as real power, S is the apparent power.
Power factor become maximum under these two condition First, when \[\theta \Rightarrow 0 \] then \[\cos \theta \Rightarrow 1\]
Second, at the LCR circuit when resonance will be the same, angel \[\theta \Rightarrow 0 \].
Therefore, in both cases the power factor will be maximum.
Note: Low power factor in AC circuit, is responsible for an important role of power consumption . There are some disadvantages of low power factor i.e. poor voltage regulation, cost effective, conductor size is greater.
