$4x-2=10$
Add $'2'$ on both sides i.e. left side and right side.
$4x-2+2=10+2$
Here, on the left side $'-2'$ and $'+2'$ will get canceled.
$\therefore 4x=12$
$'4'$ which is in multiplication with $'x'$ shift to right side and the multiplication get converted into division.
$x=\dfrac{12}{4}$
