Hint:The electric charges are of types, positive and negative. The positive charges are called protons and the negative charges are called electrons. When the charges are at rest, it creates an electrostatic force. When the charges are moving, it produces current. We can also say that the rate of flow of charges is called current.
Complete answer:
(i) The positive charges are called protons and the negative charges are called electrons. When two positive or negative charges interact, they repel each other. But if one negative and positive charge interact, it attracts each other.
(ii) This attraction and repulsion are the forces. The force that acts between the charges is called Coulomb force. The definition of Coulomb force is given by Coulomb law.
(iii) The Coulomb law states that the force of attraction or repulsion between two electric charges is directly proportional to the product of the charges and inversely proportional to the square of the distance in between them.
\[F\alpha \dfrac{{{q_1}{q_2}}}{{{r^2}}}\]
(iv) when the distance between the charges increases, the Coulomb force decreases. And the force increases when the value of charge increases.
(v) The current flows through only when the two opposite charges interact. The likely charges repel and there is no flow of energy.
Note:The electric charges are of two types, positive and negative. Positive charges are called protons and the negative charges are called electrons. The two opposite charges attract on interaction. The two same charges repel on interaction. The amount of force of attraction and repulsion can be found by the Coulomb law.
