Hint: As we know that there are various forms of energy which may be converted from one form to another to solve such questions we should find that what type of energy conversions are involved in the devein which are given, and the one which have different form of energy consumption or energy transfer will be the odd one.
Complete step by step solution: We have given four devices and set us to discuss one by one about each and try to find the odd one out.
i) Electric cell: It is an energy providing device which converts chemical energy of the electrolyte present in it into electrical energy. A battery is one or more cells which are connected. The cell is also known as an electrochemical cell.
ii) Storage cell: A storage cell is a device which also stores the electric energy which can be used further to run appliances.
iii) Electric geyser: This device is used to convert electrical energy into heat energy i.e. it consumes the electric energy and provides heat energy.
iv) Electric generator: This device provides us electric energy by converting it from other forms of energy like mechanical energy. Generator converts motive power (mechanical energy) into electrical power for use in an external circuit.
So from the above discussion we found that out of all the four, electric geysers are the only one which consume electric energy while all the other devices provide us with electric energy.
Note: To find out odd ones in such questions always focus on the form of energy which the given device is consuming and releasing. Storage cells produce electricity from chemical action which is somewhat similar to primary cells but this process can be reversed by applying an external source of electricity in a charging process.
